This section is dedicated to the Gods and Planets. Here you will find a description of each planetary archetype and corresponding deity

All the planets, gods, goddesses, & astrological signs represent an archetypal self. They are all seen as energetic patterns of the psyche that also manifest in the body. These archetypes play out in many different ways in our lives and represent our strengths & weaknesses. These symbols offer us wisdom, advice, and suggestions to integrate these archetypes into our psyche by developing healthy relationships with these celestial forces. The gods communicate with us through dreams, ritual work, meditation, our emotions, sensations, & symbolic imagery. The teachings of these archetypes take us on an inner dimensional journey by guiding us back to wholeness. The quest of the explorer into the esoteric and alchemical realms of symbolism is to do so from a holistic perspective as opposed to the current model of a scientific worldview that isolates and views our reality as purely intellectually understood through what we can see with our own eyes. These realms are understood through the development of our intuition, psychic capabilities, and trust in an underlying order. The goal of understanding the archetypes is to develop, transform, & refine each of these celestial energies within ourselves and embody their highest virtues.

The quintessential Masculine. The sun is emblematic of the fundamental core self. The sun is the center of our personality & the ego, it’s what gives someone a forceful presence and vital will. It represents our self-worth, affirmations, & self-assurance. The sun is at the center of the solar system representing the center of our being. It is the life-giving force that represents our vitality or qi energy. the sun promotes warmth, strength, confidence, & an ability to assert our expression.

The sun is the archetype of the solar lion, king, & pure yang energy. It represents the sulfur principle in alchemy. The sun radiates life force energy throughout the solar system. It is pure consciousness representing the crown chakra & the alchemical metallic gold. The sun is what drives our individual purpose in life. However, the sun is not the “self”. The sun becomes the embodied whole“self” when it unites with the queen the “moon” through the alchemical marriage called the Mysterium coniunctionis in alchemical psychology. The archetype of the sun is what we all strive to embody. The sun is said to be the greatest god in the heavens and the divine masculine or king within.

The Astrological sign associated with the sun is Leo in the 5th house. The sun is also exalted in Aries meaning when the sun is in Aries the archetypes enhance and harmonize one another. The primary organ associated with the sun is the heart. The heart is at the center of our being and considered the seat of the “spirit & Intellect”, through learning to view reality by heart perception or perceiving through the lens of the heart we learn to see and live through unity. When we are operating from the mind we tend to analyze, separate, & divide ourselves from one another. The heart bridges and doesn’t see separation. When we have an imbalanced sun or undeveloped or challenged sun in excess or deficiency we tend to find ourselves depleted, with low energy, depressed, controlling, bossy, having pride issues, arrogant, domineering, condescending, lacking digestive fire, & lacking confidence. These people tend to lack self-awareness and contain a deprived connection to their heart often finding themselves with poor circulation, cold hands & feet, and stagnation. When the sun is in excess or is deficient, we often find ourselves disempowered or disconnected to a higher purpose. The lessons of the sun teach us that too much willpower & forced or controlled purpose leads us to arrogance and self-absorption. These people often like to be the “center” of attention. The sun leads us on the path to truly know thyself.

The sun is the flame or fire of our awareness. The sun is what perceives the vital intelligence in another being, plant, & animal. When we are living in harmony with the planetary archetypes we find that we have well integrated the lessons of the archetypes into our psyche. These challenges & obstacles we face from these archetypes teach us to maintain a healthy relationship with these energies. A healthy expressed sun is someone who is high spirited, joyful, playful, creative, energetic, enthusiastic, confident, secure, passionate, compassionate, empathetic, optimistic, & embodies authenticity. A well-integrated sun is someone who does not act out on their conditioned self but instead, they are guided by the path of the heart.

Helios God of the sun, the supreme ruler of the light. Helios was a symbol of ascent & descent of life, light, And natural order. In the mornings and evenings, people would greet Helios. It was said that he had two palaces. One in the east and one in the west. He would leave his eastern palace every morning on his chariot of horses and descend to his western palace in the evenings. It is said that Helios radiates energy as light & warmth. His chariot of horses bringing him across the sky is symbolic for viewing energy as power or movement. When helios “the sun” descends at night this exemplifies how he embodies potential energy and regenerates his strength.

Apollo god of light and truth. Son of Leto and Zeus. His twin sister is Artemis goddess of hunting. Apollo was regarded as the golden child of the Greek pantheon. He was revered for his gifts in science, archery, mathematics, poetry, medicine, & wisdom all functions of focused consciousness. It was said that since apollo was god of medicine and disease he could heal people of any kind of illness but also cause disease. He was also known as the god of oracles and prophecy. Apollo’s shrine is located in Delphi. Two messages inscribed upon the temple gates of Delphi were know thyself and nothing in excess. The god of the sun bridges order into chaos by the vital power of the collective mind into the light of day by giving it focus, purpose, & direction. Apollo is a perfect representation of moral virtue.
